Hey all,
I'm Liz, a brown eyed girl, with a passion for nutrition. It should come as no surprise that I am constantly searching recipes to try. I will use this blog to share all my favorite food finds and other things I like. If there is something you wish to have more information about, please let me know.
I'm assuming that by clicking on the link that led you to this blog that you are ready to sit back and read my innermost thoughts. Yes, you can be a virtual Edward Cullen. So let me start by telling you that I will mention Autumn a lot in my posts. For those of you who know me, I am obsessed with this season and fear moving long-term to anywhere where autumn does not exist. The beautiful colors, sweet smells, cute clothes, perfect weather, and of course foods truly highlight this season. Not to mention, everything good just seems to happen during autumn - new friends, new relationships, and new adventures. Living in Baltimore is great, but its nothing like autumn in Pennsylvania, particularly Penn State. Penn State is absolutely beautiful during this time of year. I miss Penn State a lot, but even more-so during the fall.
Anyways, I have this weekend off so today I took a trip to the Inner Harbor mall where I bought a candle with the scent "Leaves" from Bath and Body Works. I love it and its perfect for the best approaching season.
Now I am at my row home with the candle burning and a kettle of tea on the stove. Sadly it is raining so I guess its time for some movies. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is on TV so I'm watching it. A burning, random thought just occurred. How did all four girls convince their parents to pay for a trip to Greece to search for pants? Pants! If only we could just stop what we are doing and go to Greece to search for pants and then dive off cliffs into clear, blue waters. Whatev. I will still watch this movie anytime I see it on TV, much like the Harry Potter movies. I lose hours of productivity multiple weekends a year thanks to Harry Potter.

The delicious recipe I found online and tried is one for hummus. Sure, "hummus is easy to make 'blah blah blah'", but I have tried multiple recipes where the ingredients just weren't proportioned to my liking. This one from allrecipes.com is still my favorite. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/hummus-iii/. The only thing I do not do is add the tahini. I do not think its necessary. Hummus is a tasty, healthier alternative dip (compared to Heluvagood and other cream-based dips). It goes well with pita chips or any kind of vegetable. I like to make my own pita chips with wheat tortillas. All I do is buy the Mission wheat tortillas from Walmart, rip a few up and bake the ripped pieces with olive oil and sea salt for 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Then, voila! I serve them with hummus.

I believe I have rambled sufficiently enough for this to be considered my first entry. Until next time, enjoy the rest of summer, because "[autumn] is coming". Yay!

P.S. As soon as I wrote that 'burning question', Carmen mentioned her dad had lots of saved up dividend miles to help pay for the trip to Greece. Mystery solved. Still though - for pants?!
